From October 8–10 in Gdańsk, representatives of the largest trade union confederations from Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland will meet. Union leaders will discuss issues crucial for the entire Visegrad Group region, such as collective bargaining, the region’s competitiveness, industrial and trade policy, as well as security challenges and their impact on the socio-economic situation.
The participants will also meet with Esther Lynch, General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, who will present the priorities of the European trade union movement for the coming months and years.
The Visegrad Trade Union Group is an initiative of trade union organizations which, through regular meetings, discuss key issues relevant to the countries of the region. In this way, they strengthen their voice in EU-level debates. The organization of the meeting is made possible thanks to the support of the International Visegrad Fund as part of the project “Strengthening trade union cooperation in the V4 region.”
