Regional offices of Solidarnosc coordinate organizing

On the 8th of February 2011 in the office of the region Wielkopolska there was the first of six meetings about organizing new members and committees in firms of the trade union Solidarnosc. The plan is to divide Poland into six groups of regions: The first group consists of the regions Wielkopolska, Pomorze Zachodnie, Konin and Koszaliński-Pobrzeże. Representatives of this regions discussed the measures in 2011: with the new leader of organizers of Solidarnosc: Kacper Stachowski, with staff of the training department and of the department responsible for Grosik (members get discounts while shopping in supermarkets). The coordinator of organizers in the first group of regions is Dariusz Gojowczyk. Other participants were: Tadeusz Majchrowicz – Vize president of the leading organ of Solidarnosc (Country Commission) and Michał Ossowski – Director of the company Solkarta (which realizes the discount programme „Grosik” to make Solidarnosc more attractive).

Kacper Stachowski wants to support independent initiatives and stop the schematic approach in the organizing department (Dział Rozwoju Związku). He prefers activities on different levels in an unconventional way. (Improve Solidarnosc’s image, train and educate people). Not later than in mid-March he wants to present a development plan in the other groups of regions. The next group meeting takes place on the 17th of February 2011 in Wroclaw representing the regions of South-West Poland. (Achim Baatzsch)
