Protest of the public sector employees

23 Sept. – More than 5 thousand trade unionists from „Solidarnosc”, OPZZ and Trade Union Forum employed in the budget sector participated in a rally in protest against freezing salaries. Among the unionists were employees of fiscal services, police, firemen, prison employees, border police, central administration and customs officers. Janusz Sniadek said “we have come here to demand dignity of the workers. After 30 years of the August ’80 we still have to fight for social rights, defend our dignity and social justice. The unionists demanded increase of salaries and rejected the governmental plans of freezing salaries across the sector due to budget cuts.
