8 Jan. - The representatives of several branch structures of "Solidarnosc" demanded increase of the salaries for all the workers of the public sector.
The representatives of branches structures of in NSZZ "Solidarnosc" signed a declaration, in which they appealed to the government for negotiating the increase of the salaries for groups of workers employed in the public and budget sector.
According to the unionists great growth of prices of the food and energy does not match the smallest growth of wages of many of these working groups.
"We can not accept the situation when negotiations are forced by the protest actions of each group fighting only for itself. It is against the fundamental rules of solidarity" - saod Janusz Sniadek - chairman of NSZZ "Solidarnosc".
Representatives of "S" claim that government and the local government are responsible for protecting the society against the threats which may make the access to the public service more difficult.
The declaration was signed by the representatives of food, transport, education, chemical industry, culture, bank, trade, insurance and public service sectors.
During the meeting new principal challenges for the union in new 2008 year Janusz Sniadek reminded that it is union's task to find new members for this trade union and organize the workers. The representatives of branches appealed to the of NSZZ "Solidarnosc" for taking actions so as to change organization of the union structure. Reorganized structures would give them better possibilities for activities of branches.
