Salary rises in TESCO

19 March - TESCO worker's "Solidarnosc" has made and agreement with the employer. Negotiations between NSZZ "Solidarnosc" in TESCO Poland and the management of the company were finished on Tuesday 18 of March. Trade Unionists demanded rise of their remunerations by 30 %, increase to their bonuses for night shifts, introducing a bonus for working on Sundays and during the holidays, bonuses for the workers long - serving employees and motivating system.

First part of rises in TESCO will take place in July. Next increase of wages is planned for November. Salaries for employees with one year work service will amount no less than 1500 PLN and wages for employees with less than one year work service will amount no less than 1360 PLN from the 1st of November.

It is set, that since March 2008 every worker employed in TESCO shop will be paid increased wages for nightshifts, cashier will get motivation bonus (which will be involved in their standard wage in November). In June, workers, who have been working there for at least two years will gain from 200 PLN to 500 PLN net vouchers as a rewards (tax will be paid by the employer).

"Negotiations were difficult and long, but we managed to achieve a lot. Most of our demands will be implemented in year 2008. We are very grateful for the support to all members of our Union, who had believed in us" said Katarzyna Sawicka, chairman of the "S" in TESCO.
