Statement of the Presidium of the National Commission of NSZZ "Solidarnosc" concerning "Decent Work" Campaign

12 Aug - The National Commission supports the ITUC and ETUC global campaign "Decent Work - Decent Life". We share the conviction that all people have the right to work in decent conditions and to receive proper remuneration that satisfies basic living needs of the workers and their families. This right can only be guaranteed if basic human rights, workers' rights and trade union rights are respected, including the right to organise and to bargain collectively. This aim can also be achieved by expanding the social security system guaranteeing minimum income, decent pensions, insurance from unemployment, protection of maternity and quality health care for all.

NSZZ "Solidarnosc" actively supports these objectives by organising a campaign "Decent Work - Decent Retirement", a part of which will be the rally in Warsaw on 29 August 2008.
