Rally in Warsaw to be held 29 August

23 Aug - On 29 August a huge demonstration will be organised in Warsaw by the NSZZ "Solidarnosc" within the framework of the "Decent Work - Decent Retirement" campaign. The organisers expect some 50 thousand trade unionists to participate. The aim of the demonstration is to appeal to the government for increase of minimum wage up to 50% of average wage, ensuring systematic increase of wages compensating the increasing costs of living, ensuring the social dialogue and implementing early retirement for workers employed in specific and hazardous conditions.

The demonstration is supposed to draw the public attention to the importance of safe and decently paid work for a sustainable economic growth and social security of the workers. NSZZ "Solidarnosc" demands decent work and decent retirement for all professional groups.

Representative of the ICTU P. Kamalam (Director of the Equality Dept.) and Confederal Secretary of the ETUC Jozef Niemiec will join and give speeches during the rally.
